We do not sell your data

We have never sold, rented, or traded personal information, and we have no plans to. There is no data broker, no mailing list for sale, and no arrangement where another company pays us for anything about you.

Your documents go to us and nobody else

What you type stays in your own browser while you work. When you download a PDF, the document is sent to our servers to render the file and we keep a record of it as a business record. That record lives in our own AWS account in the United States. It is not sent to advertisers, not sent to any other company, and not used to build a profile of you.

The one thing a third party does see

We run Google's advertising tag so we can tell whether the ads we pay for actually bring anyone here. Google collects the ordinary things a web tag collects — the page you're on, the page you came from, your IP address, your browser — and it may set its own advertising cookies. It never receives the contents of your documents.

No money changes hands for that, but some state privacy laws describe this kind of arrangement as “sharing” personal information for cross-context advertising. Rather than argue about the label, we give you the switch:

What the switch does not change

Drafts still live only in your browser. Records of documents you already downloaded are still kept as business records for twelve months. Basic security and operations logging still happens, as it does on any website. None of that is advertising, and none of it goes to anyone else.

If we ever email you about our own products

If you gave us an email address — on the feedback form, for example — we may use it to tell you about other software we build. That is us contacting you about our own tools; your address is not passed to anyone else for their marketing, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Asking us to delete something

Use the feedback form and tell us what to remove. For a downloaded document, include the company and project names on it so we can find the record. You don't need an account, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
